Preparation and adulteration of snuff
From the first moments of its complex manufacturing process, when it is still only one plant, snuff undergoes major alterations in its natural composition, which appear to have triggered the harmful effects of smoking, and, usually, only van designed to increase the addictive power and increased consumption of cigarettes.
The first of these is adulteration of all chemicals during cultivation affect and alter the natural composition of snuff (no pesticides have only been found in cigarettes, but also radioactive substances). But also then used multiple methods and substances in the industrial manufacturing process for a different flavor and better combustion.
The tobacco companies used some 600 extras substances during the manufacturing process in order to increase the addictive power and snuff consumption.
For that burns faster
We can be sure that every cigarette does not go out alone after being dumped in the ashtray have been treated with chemicals. Since rapid combustion want to give more puffs (the smoker does not want to stay “back” to a cigarette that is consumed by itself), the leaf and paper chemicals are added to make it burn faster and more deeply . This creates serious risks, not only for the health of the smoker, but also fire, as many times cigarettes continue to burn off, despite being theoretically.
Create greater reliance
Moreover, tobacco companies have nearly 600 substances that are mixed with snuff the smoker needs to smoke more and more. In general, it is intended to mask the odor and increase the flavor and the effect of nicotine. To it is used, for example, ammonia, which increases by 30% the absorption of nicotine in the body. Or cocoa, producing greater suction capability, which is achieved that much smoke reaches the lungs. Also used chocolate as it is addictive and butter, coffee, sugar and juice concentrates of various fruits (apple, fig, tangerine, orange and pineapple), and wine, whiskey, rum, seed oils, vinegar and urea (a component of urine), used to scent, to mask odors and flavors, as well as the smoke is more acidic, which will make smoking even more.
Warnings on packs
Since 1993 the composition of snuff is “reflected” on cigarette packets sold in Spain as it is required to carry warnings that refer to some of the serious health risks caused by the snuff, and that showing the levels of tar and nicotine, indicating the content in milligrams of these poisons in every cigarette. Recently, however, has been found that the quantities appeared often have little to do with those containing cigarettes, which are up to twice the number announced, exceeding the maximum permitted by law.
Carbon monoxide
It is a colorless gas that emerges during the combustion of paper and snuff, snuff and that the light generated at the same rate as normal.
When it comes to blood, it combines with water to form a product that in healthy people reduces the ability of the bloodstream to carry oxygen to body cells (which makes physical exertion), and produces changes in the walls of arteries and veins that facilitate fat deposition, which obstructs blood flow, with the consequent risk of serious cardiovascular cause various diseases. In people who already have these disorders also acts by preventing the heart receives the oxygen needed, which increases the risk of angina pectoris and increased cases of heart attack.
Tars and oxidants
These are substances that, like nicotine, is transferred from the leaf snuff cigarette smoke during combustion and subsequently solidify when the smoke is cooled.
When it cools the smoke solidify the toxic constituents are clump forming the poisonous cocktail called tar.
Many of the tars are carcinogenic substances have a high risk of acting on the body’s cells and cause alterations in them, directly or indirectly (by helping other substances or enhancing the proper disposition of the body). Thus eventually develop tumors and cancers such as lung, lips and mouth, among others. Oxidizing substances, in turn, enhance the development of chronic bronchitis and pulmonary emphysema, respiratory diseases leading to death after years of suffering.
* Scientific research has identified more than 4,000 toxic substances in the smoke of snuff, which come from the snuff and industrial handling processes.
* One of these substances, nicotine is highly addictive and responsible for the snuff is needed.
* Of the other toxic substances should be pointed out carbon monoxide, which causes serious risk for fatal cardiovascular disease, tar (directly responsible for a large number of cancers), and oxidizing substances that cause severe lung disease and tract.
