Stop smoking as soon as you can I have smoked for 13 years and the only way I was able to quit was chantix. Good luck!

cold turkey. you might get sick but itll be worth it. or you could allow your self a certain number every day and every week or so decrease the number by one.

Quit cold turkey. Start chewing the nicotine gum. After three months- the urge goes away comletely. The first three weeks though is pure hell. You need positive distractions, for that crucial time period.

Ideally nicotine gum is ideal, but for hard core smokers adding the patch helps as well…. For guys, most find that converting to the safer chewing tobacco is best because it is safer, but still gives you the nicotine that you like…

There is no easy way to quit smoking. Since you did it for so long it might be tough and smoking is addicting. Talk to your doctor for the best solution

First of all, that’s not alot of cigarettes and you haven’t been smoking for long at all so it should be super easy for you to quit compared to lifers who smoked several packs per day! I smoked at least a pack a day for 14 years and had tried several times to quit using: Nicorette Gum, Commit Lozenges, Nicorette Patches and the good ol’ cold turkey method (which I do NOT recommend).
Finally, I quit and have been quit for well over a year. This is what I did. I had the mindset that if I was going to do this I could never smoke again…ever. Not even a drag at a party, not even a cigarette a year down the road. I had to recognize that I was like an alcoholic and that it would have to be all or nothing. Quitting smoking is a life long committment so get that in your head first and foremost. The quit smoking aid that worked for me was the CVS brand COATED mint flavored gum. I had tried Nicorette before (mint and orange) and hated it, therefore I never wanted to chew it. The Nicorette mint gum (coated, it HAS to be coated) was sooo yummy I actually looked forward to it and actually began craving it in the same way I once craved cigs. Unlike Nicorette, this kind doesn’t give you hiccups either! It took me 3 months to stop chewing the gum (I became somewhat addicted to the gum, but even so I knew it was temporary and I knew it was still better than smoking)! To ween myself off of the gum I replaced with apple gum (Extra). I couldn’t replace mint nicotine gum with mint gum for some reason…I still needed a new “fix”. Now I have been happily “addicted” to green apple gum and could never see myself wanting to smoke again. Good luck!

Ween yourself off is the best. Cold turkey will just drive you back to smoking, because it will drive you crazy so fast, you’ll want one, and you’re hooked again. Just start off with a number, and work your way down each week until you hit zero.
